Paris, Provence, Marseilles…ahhh…France.
Destination #2 on my European staycation was a trip to France via Chicago’s Cantigny Park (north of Chicago actually) French Market Days. And what says European staycation better than a stroll around a French open air market?
Although nothing can beat a true French market à la Française, Cantigny does a fine job an incorporating many elements of a Paris/French market, including:
- Locally grown vegetables and cheeses
- Pastries from a local patisserie
- French wares for sale
- Mime and stilt walker
Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned French Mime?
Not to mention lovely French things….

I just stumbled across your site while searching for French cheese. It’s a very nice site with lovely photos. I’m obsessed with everything French at the moment and planning my second trip to France, with slight guilt about going to the same place twice and all for cheese and wine…. well, life is short and I have to eat what I love. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your travel experiences!!!

Bonjour Nancy! I would have absolutely no problem going to the same place twice, especially if that place is France 🙂 Have fun planning your trip!
