With the number of Starbucks and other coffee shops across the United States, you would think that the US is the biggest contributor to coffee’s popularity. However, that would not be the case. It’s true that coffee has quite a fan club within the US – we drink an impressive 10.3 pounds of coffee per capita annually – but it’s really our friends across the pond that take coffee drinking to an extreme sport, especially our Nordic brothers and sisters who collectively average nearly twice the amount of Americans!
