Last week, I was awarded my company’s top honor (yes, I actually have a day job). The honor was a complete surprise and included recognition in front of over 1,000 of my colleagues as well as an all expenses paid trip to Rome for two! After many hugs and photos, I finally realized that I was not dreaming and that a trip to Italy was definitely in my future.
As you can imagine, that evening was incredible – Prosecco toasts, more hugs and cheers, and, to top off the night, I arrived back in my room to find a gift basket full of Italian goodies, including Nutella and Orange San Pellegrino, and a book of excursions for me to review and reserve for my trip.
And not only does my trip include a stay in Rome, it also includes side trips to Florence, Pompeii, Positano, and the Island of Capri. Ahhh, the Spanish Steps, Vatican City, the Trevi Fountain – this trip can not come soon enough!
