For those who know me, you know that I love espresso drinks. Not regular coffee drinks but the fancy kinds that more resemble a dessert than a beverage. But while in France, I had challenges finding espresso drinks similar to what I had in the US – unless I visited Starbucks. So, on a whim, I decided to give regular coffee a try. To my surprise, I grew to love the rich flavor of the cafe creme – strong coffee mixed with warm cream. There was nothing sweet about the drink but it had an amazing taste everywhere I had it, from the small cafes, to the hotels, and large restaurants. And one of the best things about having French coffee is nearly every time I ordered it, it was served with a macaron, madeline, or other cookie for dunking. A perfectly French touch in every way!
