Road trips are notoriously gritty. Spending hours and hours in the car, eating fast food all day, and staying the night in questionable hotels (or worse, motels!) can leave anyone feeling disappointed, unfulfilled and far from well-rested.
Thankfully, The Four Seasons hotel brand is challenging that age-old impression of the typical road trip. In fact, what the iconic luxury brand is proposing is anything but typical.
A slight digression about The Four Seasons…
My husband and I nearly always plan our own trips (without a travel agent). By doing this, we have the opportunity to be discerning about where to save money and where to splurge. Often times, this means choosing a more off the beaten path restaurant that locals enjoy (and is usually much less expensive than those in the touristy area) and focus our spend on a fancy hotel and private tours (to avoid lines and crowns) and other luxury experiences.
One of our favorite luxury hotel brands is The Four Seasons. We’ve loved this brand for nearly 20 years, stemming from our first and most memorable experience at The Four Seasons Maui, where we stayed for our honeymoon. We even owned stock in the company at one point. Since then, I’ve stayed at multiple Four Seasons properties including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Vail. In most cases, nothing competes with the Four Seasons consistently outstanding service and subtle elegance.
And just when I thought The Four Seasons couldn’t get any better (or cooler), it appears they are trying to raise their own bar that they set for themselves (and everyone else).
The hotel chain recently announced six incredible road trips that redefine luxury travel by car. And better yet, the road trips take travelers across Europe!
According to The Four Seasons, their Scenic Route road trips are more about the journey than the destination. And in true Four Seasons fashion, they offer:
…a unique feast for the senses, connecting 13 European Four Seasons properties across six uniquely curated routes, taking in castles and wineries, caves and cities, mountains and lakes, and much more. From sourcing the best hidden eateries for authentic cuisine to insider tips on tourist-free views, in-the-know Four Seasons Concierges in each destination work in collaboration with guests to customise every moment.
So where do these amazing European road trips take you? How about between:
- Hampshire and London
- Lisbon and Madrid
- Megeve and Geneva
- Moscow and St. Petersburg
- Paris and Cap-Ferrat
- Prague and Budapest
Is it just me, or do all of these trips sound amazing? A word of caution, the price tag associated with these trips is not to be viewed by the faint of heart. But, as with anything that’s high quality, sometimes you need to spend a little more than you’re used to. My advice? Start saving now so that cost is not an issue.
Happy travels everyone!
