Happy First Day of Fall, Y’all!
I don’t know about you, but the first day of Fall always makes me want to do three things:
1) Break out the pumpkin decor,
2) Light fall-scented candles, and
3) Go anywhere where I can see the leaves changing their colors
And speaking of leaf peeping, there are so many great places all around the US to check out the Fall colors. In fact, as early as the first week of September, you can start seeing the colors transition in the very northern parts of the country; and you can continue to see color changes through mid-November in the deep south. When you add up all of those days, we basically have 10-11 weeks of opportunity to get our fall color fix, so there’s really no excuse not to take advantage of this annual Fall tradition, right?
If you’re planning a Fall getaway to follow the color changes, remember, timing is everything. Plan ahead by using this awesome interactive map that charts weekly Fall Foliage color predictions throughout the US. It will show you when Fall colors are at their best from north to south, east to west and all across the nation.
