Two years ago I was fortunate enough to attend Chicago Gourmet as part of a writing assignment for several websites and my own two blogs. This year, I am very excited to announce that I will be returning to Chicago Gourmet on behalf of Bistro Chic, trying to catch the latest trends in wine and food, from Chicago and around the world.
Chicago Gourmet runs from September 28-30 in Chicago’s Millennium Park. The event itself is a celebration of food and wine that incorporates gourmet treats, lots of wine tasting, and live cooking demonstrations by locally and nationally-known chefs and other “celebrities”. If you’ve been following me for the last few years, you know that, as part of the 2010 Chicago Gourmet, I interviewed former Bon Appetit Editor Barbara Fairchild and Iron Chef Cat Cora – both were fabulous interviews and very gracious women.
This year’s schedule of events and chef participants has not yet been finalized, but right now will include the famous Grand Cru – an exclusive wine tasting event; the delicious Hamburger Hop (sorry, it’s already sold out!); and local Chefs such as Stephanie Izard (The Girl & The Goat) and Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill).
