Life is way too short to not live among friends. So if you’re looking to relocate and expand your network of friends at the same time, you may just find a friend in the Cayman Islands. These beautiful isles have been voted the friendliest country on Earth by Forbes– mainly due to the weather, low crime rate, and no pollution.
Check out what other countries made the list:
- Cayman Islands
- Australia
- United Kingdom
- Canada
- New Zealand
- Spain
- United States
- Bermuda
- South Africa
- Malaysia
By chance, the Cayman Islands is on my itinerary for March 2013. Sun…sand…and surrounded by friendly people? I may not come back!

I am aghast at the absence of Japan from this list. I am an American living in Japan and it is hands-down the friendliest country I have ever been to (I think the majority of other Americans who’ve lived or visited here would agree). The people in this country are beyond welcoming and are eager to help you understand their language and culture. They get an A+ for hospitality in my book. As far as the USA? Maybe it’s just me, but we surely don’t belong on this list.
