Two friends of mine recently came back from trips to Europe. A woman from work spent 10 days traveling in England and France with her husband, while another friend was in Germany and Austria with her family. I, of course, was not jealous of their extreme good fortune (ok, maybe a little). Instead, I was very excited for them, knowing that I’d be living vicariously through them via their travelogues and entertaining stories.
Upon their return, I was pleasantly surprised that each friend had so generously brought back keepsakes for me from their travels, including:
- Fashion and lifestyle magazines (Germany/Austria)
- L’Occitane guest soaps (Germany/Austria)
- Little jar of honey (Germany/Austria)
- Sea salt caramels (France)
- Glass paper weight (France)
Obviously, I would prefer to have my own adventures in Europe and bring back treasures for all of my friends. But, because I am not able to travel overseas in the near future, I am grateful for all of my friends who do and remember me while they are gone!
Ciao!
