Tripadvisor just released its Travelers’ Choice Awards for the Best of the Best Beaches in the United States – and my top 2 favorite beaches made the list!
The Best of the Best ranking lists 25 of the top U.S. beaches (they have global categories as well) awarded to those that receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. It’s crazy to think that with 8 million listings, fewer than 1% of them achieve this Best of the Best milestone within Tripadvisor.
Of the U.S. beaches listed, I’ve been to 7 of them (starred below) and my 2 personal favorites made the top 10 list – Kaanapali Beach on Maui and Coligny Beach on Hilton Head Island. Both beaches offer miles of beautiful shoreline (perfect for sunsets, family photos and instagram snaps) with convenient proximity to amazing activities and restaurants. Coligny Beach in particular has a very large flat-ish surface area of beach (especially in low tide) which makes it great for beach sports, bike riding and skim boarding. Kaanapali Beach is the quintessential Hawaiian beach, perfect for surfing, snorkeling, and amazing views of the the neighboring islands.
